John Calvin Edwards

John Calvin Edwards, age 83, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 19, 2025, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

John proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany. It was there that he met the love of his life, Rosa Dietz, and together they moved to the United States in 1963. They built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children. They later divorced but remained very good friends.

Throughout his career, John worked at Jeld-Wen, Klamath Ice, and later owned The Playhouse Tavern for several years. He was passionate about classic cars and participated in many car shows over the years. His prized possession was a 1967 Dodge Coronet, and he was in the process of restoring a 1965 Cobra. These cars will continue to be shown in his honor.

John is survived by his close friend Rosa (Linda) Edwards; his children Siegrid Edwards, Jeff and Deanna Edwards, and Deanna and Charlie Whiting; and his grandchildren Alishea and Jeff Cox, Michael and Taylor Edwards, and Hannah, Logan, and McKennah Whiting. He is also survived by his siblings, sister Verlee Sagendorf, brother and his wife Gary and Cindy Edwards, and sister and her husband Viola and Dale Christy He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many many friends.

He is proceeded in death by his Father, Charles Edwards, his mother and step father Helen and Gene Housden.

John will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his passions, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.

His Memorial services will be held on December 19, 2025 at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 2p. He will have full Military honors at his service. There will be a reception for John at the American Legion on Saturday December 20, 2025 from 12pm -2:00pm. Appetizers will be served, and the family would love to hear all your stories about our beloved father, grandfather and brother.
