John P. English Jr., a cherished soul whose life journey began on October 4, 1965, in the quaint town of Newton, Massachusetts, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 60. He was a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana.
John is the beloved son of Suzanne and John English. He was a loving husband and partner to Patricia English for 15 years and a father who took immense pride in his children, Maggie English Pizzalato (Dominick Phillip Pizzalato), Liam English, Nolan English, and Rose Mary English. His role as a stepfather to James Sellers, Lauren Dupre, Rene Dupre (Vanessa Whaley Dupre), and Madison Lodice was embraced with the same dedication as his biological children. John's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Baby D, Isla, Rene III, Reagan, Trevor, Tyler, Luna, and Sean, who will carry forward his spirit of joy and kindness. He also leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his sister, Nancy English Fitzgerald, and a host of extended family members and friends.
John was predeceased by his siblings, Michael English and Brenda English Yovicsin.
John graduated from Naval Post Graduate School with a Master's in Computer Science. His intellectual pursuits led him to a fulfilling career as an information technologist with the United States Government. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and innovation, always ready to lend his expertise and mentorship to those around him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a man of diverse interests. He was an avid practitioner of jiu-jitsu, finding both physical and mental discipline in the martial art. His love for reading was insatiable, and he could often be found engrossed in a book, always eager to learn and expand his horizons. Riding his Harley was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his free spirit and his appreciation for the back roads and small towns. On Sundays, he and Patricia created many treasured memories going wherever his Harley would take them; enjoying their time together during their "Lost Sundays."
John lived by the philosophy that "Love is a verb," a principle that was evident in his actions and the warmth he extended to everyone he met. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend, whose generosity and wisdom touched the lives of many. His laughter, his counsel, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
