John Finn Obituary

John Joseph Finn, 72, of Warwick, New York passed away on March 22, 2025, surrounded by his immediate family. A beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother and son, John, better known as “JJ”, will always be remembered for his dedication to his work and his love of his family and friends. Born on November 29, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, JJ spent his childhood in Long Island with his parents, Erma and Jesse Keeler, and his siblings, Yvonne Edghill, Maria Agostini, Derrick Calnick, Gerard Waluyn, Joseph Withers and David Waluyn. On April 9, 1985, JJ married his wife, Edya Finn. The two were married nearly 40 years and yielded two children and one grandchild. JJ started his career at the New York Telephone Company (now Verizon) in 1970 and retired after 38 years in 2008 as a Sr. Manager of Emergency Management. He spent the remaining 16 years of his life as volunteer and Chief of Logistics with the American Red Cross- Greater New York region. J.J. is survived by his daughters, Kya Finn and Imani Finn, his grandchild Rhea Lopez, his wife Edya Finn, his mother Erma L. Keeler, his sisters Yvonne Edghill, Maria Agostini, Debbie, Susan, and Liz, his brothers Derrick Calnick, Gerard Waluyn, and Richie, and a host of other in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse S. Keeler and his siblings Joseph Withers and David Waluyn. Services to celebrate JJ’s life will be held on April 5th, 2025 at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Ave. Middletown, NY with a viewing scheduled from 2-4 p.m. and a ceremony immediately thereafter. The family will be accepting both flowers and donations to the American Red Cross.
