John J. Fleckenstein, 74, of Denver, died peacefully in his sleep on May 14th, 2025. John was born on March 12th, 1951, to Adam and Dolores Fleckenstein in Denver, Colorado.
He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School and Saint Francis de Sales High School graduating in 1969. He graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1973. He received a Master of Divinity Degree from Saint Thomas Theological Seminary in 1984 and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado in 1993. He worked as a bookkeeper for over 23 years with the Colorado Ready Mix Concrete Association. In his earlier years, he helped lead a charity BINGO team at Our Lady of Lourdes and worked with others to invest the proceeds to settle the original parish mortgage. Later, he attended St. Francis de Sales parish, where he assisted with taking collections and helped count and deposit the weekend contributions on Tuesday. He enjoyed watching sports, EWTN, old movies, and television programs. He was especially devoted to Our Lady of Fatima. We will miss John's twinkling eyes as he told you a story that was almost unbelievable.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam A. Fleckenstein, Jr. and Dolores Fleckenstein (nee Karls). He is survived by his siblings: Adam A. Fleckenstein III, Michelle (Dennis) DeBruler, Roberta (Peter) Ferenz, David, William (Helen) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
