John Richard Flynn, 83 of Bloomington, passed away at his residence Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024. John was born in Lawrence County to Hansel Flynn and Kathryn Flynn. He graduated in the class of 1959 from Shawswick High School. After graduation, John served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in the Philippines he met his first wife Frances. When they returned to the United States after serving his country, he had three children, Chris, Candi and Kevin.
He worked at RCA for over 33 years until it's closing in Bloomington in 1998. John enjoyed motorcycling and soon after retiring, bought yet another Goldwing Motorcycle. He along with Rosemary McFarland, his life partner/girlfriend, would join the Goldwing Motorcycle Club Chapter Z and for the next 20 years, spend time with amazing friends riding around the state and country on a Goldwing Motorcycle, until Rosemary's untimely death in 2019.
John leaves behind his children, Chris Flynn of Bedford, Carolyn (Candi) Flynn of Indianapolis and Kevin Flynn and wife Leslie of Springville. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Devon and Makayla Flynn and Jessica Flynn, all of Bedford, great grandchildren Easton and Emersyn Flynn, and siblings, Rick Flynn, and wife Linda of Bedford and Barbara Todd of Vermilion, Ohio.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Hansel Flynn, Kathryn Cummings, and stepfather George Cummings, siblings, Vickie Flynn, Carl Todd, and Patricia Lyons.
John requested to be cremated and that no services be held. Please remember him as he was and to live life to the fullest.
