Grace Xantippi DeVeau was born on October 6, 1993 in Bloomington IN. She passed on August 23 at Hospice House surrounded by her family and by so much love. Grace was loved, and will continue to be deeply loved, by her mother Susan Diamond, protective and caring big brother Eric Diamond and sister, Ashley Billingham Being Ashley's big sister was the greatest joy and happiness in Grace's life. Grace also had so much love for her Aunt Eileen (Froggy) who was always there for her with love and support. Grace is also survived by brother, Bob (Julie) and cousin Jim and her adopted Grandma Patti along with her Uncle Rick and Aunt Mary Lou and several other aunts, uncles and many cousins. She is also survived by family friends Debbie, Drew, Vicki and Bonnie. Grace was cherished by so many family members, friends and medical care providers. Grace was especially loved by her soul sister, Margaret Littell who was by Grace's side from middle school on and through out many years of medical difficulties. Grace is also survived by Robert Billingham and Vickie (Rob) Billingham. Although Grace fought multiple illnesses for over 18 years, her smile lit up the hearts of those around her. Her kindness extended to friends and strangers alike. Grace did all that she could to make everyone's day a little brighter and happier. No matter what Grace was going through, she loved to travel with her family and have special mother/daughter trips with her mom. Grace loved Disney World, cruises and trips to Chicago. She traveled all around the United States, Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean. Grace is so thankful for her care providers especially Dr Stone, Liana, Sirate, Kim and all the amazing nurses at the IU Health Infusion Center. She also was so thankful for the care provided by IU Health Home Care by her nurse Brian and by Hospice providers especially Ally, Jenny, Ashley, Stephanie, Melissa, Mary Beth, Lucas, Janet and Norma. Grace loved theater, horses, American Girl Dolls and swimming and exploring the woods with Eric while growing up. She loved eggplant Parmesan, artichokes, Rasta Pops, couscous and crab cakes. Grace had a kind word for almost everyone and hated knowing anyone was afraid or hurting. She tried to make everyone's life a little brighter whenever she could. Grace became ill just before her 14th birthday and her life was forever changed. She had multiple neurological conditions, Ehler's Danlos syndrome, seizure disorder and gastroparesis along with other medical issues that greatly impacted her life. Despite the pain and limitations of these medical issues, Grace tried to enjoy her life to the fullest amount possible by traveling with family and spending time with loved ones. It pained Grace's heart to leave her precious dog, Crumpet, behind. She looked forward to reuniting with pets Shadow, Lyric, Satai, Sam, Scamper, Frisky, Kiara and Cuddles and Bonnie's dog, Bella. Grace was predeceased by grandparents Al and Marie Diamond, Nelson Piller, Ed and Irene Billingham, Great Grandma Victoria Buczynski, cherished Uncle Gene DeVeau and cousin Donna Tokarski. Grace will live on in our hearts forever and every act of love and kindness we see will quickly bring Grace's kindness and love to our minds. A Celebration of Grace's life will be on August 30 from 11 am to 1 pm at Allen Funeral Home. A service will take place during that time from 11:30 to approximately 12:15 pm. A private burial will be held at a different time at Clear Creek Cemetery. Thank you to everyone who impacted Grace's life in a positive manner and who loved her fiercely and protectively. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to IU Health Hospice House or the Goat Conspiracy Sanctuary. [email protected]
