John K. Foster, Jr.

 

A service to celebrate the life of John K Foster, Jr. will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Dan A. Castleberry, Sr. officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Robert's Cemetery, Harmony Road in Provencal, LA with Dan Castleberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of service on Thursday October 12th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

John, at the age of 93, passed away at home in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, October4, 2023.  He was born December 25, 1929 in Provencal, Louisiana to John K Foster, Sr. and Beula Mae Foster.

In February 1951, John married the love of his life, Geraldine Hall and moved to Houston, Texas where their resided until his death.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1952.

John loved working for Tenneco Gas Pipeline and after retiring traveled for several years working for Maritimes Northeast Pipeline. He traveled to different states with the pipeline and loved every minute of it. His most enjoyable times were going to his farmhouse, swinging on his front porch and enjoying a cup of coffee with family and friends.

John is survived by his daughter Cynthia G. Castleberry and husband Dan Castleberry, Sr.; grandson Dan Castleberry Jr., and wife, Robyn; three great-granddaughters, Noelle, Jade and Aniston all of Houston, Texas, and a daughter-in-law Cinta Foster of Provencal, La.

He was preceded in death by his son Donald K. Foster; granddaughter Christa Michelle Foster; and his parents John K. Foster, Sr. and Beula Mae Foster.
