John Galloway, 86, of Curryville, MO, formerly of Troy, MO, passed away on March 13, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1938 in Harper, Kansas to Fred and Isele (Robertson) Galloway. John attended the local schools, along with his siblings. He graduated from Harper High School and attended classes at Washington University. John was employed at McDonnell Douglas now Boeing for over 39 years as Director of Tooling. He was a dedicated employee who never missed a day of work.
John was united in marriage with Carol on February 9, 1996 and they came together as a large family.
John loved being outdoors regardless of the weather, he was a hunter but in his later years enjoyed watching the wildlife. He had his cat "Cousin" in the barn and his outdoor cat that had wandered up and he fed on the porch, he was very attached to the cats.
John and Carol traveled extensively around the country, including Hawaii, making many great and sometimes funny memories. More recently he and Carol would get up in the morning and take a "road trip"driving around to new places and discovering little shops and restaurants.
John made sure to check in on all his eight children regularly and always wanted to know what all the Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren were doing; he was a very proud Grandpa and filled with pride over their achievements.
Every evening, he and Carol would sit in their respective chairs, have "wine time" and watch the evening turn into night on their pond and property. The sun may have set on John, but his memory will endure. He will sadly be missed and long remembered by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his large, loving family, his wife, Carol Galloway, children, Shawn (Debra) Galloway, two step-sons, Dennis (Susan) Hopkins and Donald L. (Jennifer) Hopkins, daughter, Sabrina (Tom) Glaser, Bobbi (the late Brett Hamilton) three step-daughters, Sheila (Bruce) Lawson, Carla Hopkins and Marla Sierras, grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Connor, Sarah, Jack, Megan, Matthew, Patrick, Page, Katie, Michael, Sam, Emily, Joe, Michael, Josh, Matthew and Jamie, nephew, Donnie (Melinda) Galloway, several great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
