John William "Johnny" Gentry Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. John "Johnny" William Gentry, Sr., 70, of Greenville, MS who passed on Friday February 20th, 2026 at Delta Health System will be held at 11 am on Monday February 23rd, 2026 at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Leland. Rev. John Gentry, Jr. will be officiating and serving as pallbearers are Alan Sansing, Joe Terry, Jacob West, Doug Nestler, Jimmy Jackson, and Brock Williams.
Johnny was born to Charles Wilburn and Billie Opal Collum Gentry in Greenville on September 8th, 1955. He was a wonderful caregiver and dedicated his life to helping and caring for others. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and family. He looked forward to being reunited with his parents. He was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.
He was preceded by his parents Charles and Billie Gentry.
He is survived by one son: John William Gentry Jr. (Tabetha) of Leland, MS, a sister: Julia Gentry Glenn of Fulton, MS, two grandsons: Jackson Collum Gentry of Leland and Charles Peyton Ponder of Plainfield, IN, and a granddaughter: Skylar Mackenzie Gentry (Jacob) of Waynesboro, MS, and two nieces: Amanda and Amy.
