John D. Gerry

John D. Gerry, 84, of Greeley died at his home. He was born on May 19, 1925 in Greeley to George T. and Grace Aileen (Davis) Gerry. John graduated from Colorado Teachers College, now UNC, in 1955 and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and returned to farm for 55 years on the Gerry family homestead. He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of both the NRA and the Elks. Survivors include a nephew, Gerry (Nicolle) Ball of Apple Valley, MN, niece, Suzanne (Patrick) Lilly of Rio Rancho, NM, great nieces, Patricia Conlon of Colorado Springs and Sheila Conlon of Castle Rock and a great nephew, Jason (Heather) Ball of Rosemount, MN as well as 4 great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara A. Ball and his parents. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Elks Foundation in care of Allnutt, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
