I saw John Gingerich at the Winter Choral Concert at Canby High School on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. I chatted with him in the lobby while we waited for the doors to open to the concert hall. I recognized him, after having not seen him for over 20 years, and I was amazed at how much weight he had lost. But he still remembered me attending the computer classes he gave to teachers at Ackermann Middle School. He was the Technology Coordinator for the Canby School District, and he taught us how to teach computer skills to the students at our schools. I was teaching at Ninety-One School at the time. Our remember he had his daughter Jennifer assisting him in the computer lab. That was when I learned all my computer skills, including how to create a webpage so that I could have a place to store all my stories, memories, and pilgrimages that I took around the world. Thanks, John, for all you did to give all of us computer literacy skills to navigate in the new world of the computer.
