John D. Glover, 75, of Lafayette, IN passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on February 26, 1951, in Lafayette to the late Roy and Iola (Mailloux) Glover.

John graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1969 where he played football and CYO Basketball. After graduation from CC John attended Vincennes University returning to Lafayette where he went to work at Rae Magnet Wire saving money to go on a trip to Europe where he bought a motorcycle and traveled through England, France and Andorra. After returning from Europe, John Started working for Bob Rutherford as a cement finisher.

John started working at Eli Lilly in 1980 and retired in 2012.

On May 21, 1977, John married Debby Williams at Church of the Blessed Sacrament in West Lafayette.

In 1981 the joy of his life was born, his son Ryan.

John loved being outdoors, he loved to fish, especially in Canada with his brothers Tom and Dave and his dad Roy. John shot trap for many years, he shot his bow which he received many trophies. After retirement John played golf as much as he could. He truly enjoyed going to football and basketball games at CC. In the fall every Saturday was "football Saturday", watching college games all day.

On December 3, 2019, his grandson Ian was born. Ian was his heart and soul. One of John's biggest loves was his dog Charlie, as John would say "If I can't bring my dog, I'm not going.

John is survived by his wife Debby, of nearly 49 years, his son, Ryan (Michelle) Glover, and grandson, Ian Glover of Brookston, brothers, Tom Glover of Otterbein and Dave (Laurie) Glover of Green Hill and a brother-in-law, Doug Wagner of Carmel. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Andrea Wagner, Charlie (Lauren) Wagner, Danielle (Nicholas) Ogle, Christian Glover, Kegan (Morgan) Glover, Mendy (Nate) Gould and Kyle (Deanna) Glover. John also loved his ten great nieces and nephews and had a special bond with his great nephew, Brayden Wagner.

John was preceded in death by his mother and father Roy and Iola Glover, a sister-in-law, Shirley Williams Wagner and mother-in-law Lenore P. Williams.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Ann's Soup Kitchen or Natalies Second Chance Shelter.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909. A private family burial will take place at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
