John Gonsoulin Obituary

John "Jack" Richard Gonsoulin Jr. passed away peacefully January 30th 2024 at the age of 67.
Jack was born to John Richard Gonsoulin Sr. and Marie Josie Bonetti on December 10th 1956 in Houston, Texas. The second child of eight children, Jack graduated from Spring High School in 1975.
In 1978, Jack married Melanie Price, and in 1981 they had a son, Donald Joseph. Jack learned plumbing while going to school for AC Repair. After his divorce in 1986, Jack moved to Austin for work. In 1987, Jack met his second wife, Leeann Moore. In 1996, they had a son, John "Trey" Richard III.
Jack worked in AC repair throughout Austin. He was manager for Ace Hardware in South Austin for 12 years. After that, he started a small business making window screens called Ace Affordable Screens and ran that for five years. He then ended up working at the University of Texas at Austin as a plumber until he retired after 18 years there in 2021.
Jack enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite teams, the Houston Texans and Houston Astros. He loved playing golf, and aspired to in his retirement. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, true crime shows and historical documentaries.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank Robert Gonsoulin.
Jack is survived by his wife, Leeann Kathleen Gonsoulin; his two sons, Donald Joseph and wife Ashlee, and John Richard III and wife Anja; his sisters, Jeanne Marie Mccready and Mary Catherine Rodriguez; his brothers, Bart Joseph and wife Terry, William Fredrick and his wife Angie, Paul Albert and his wife Sheryl, and Steven Lee; along with many nieces and nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles.
We will be having a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 17th from 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM at 21302 Palomino Cv, Lago Vista TX 78645.
