My condolences to John's family. May his memory be a blessing for you.
I have been thinking about many of my classmates now that I have retired. John was a classmate in what was a very small physics graduating class. We moved around together, all 8 of us, from class to class, day after day, for 4 years.
I think that we both transferred into the the physics program at the same time.
John had a great sense of humor, and we had a lot of laughs in German class.
He was uncommonly brilliant, and physics appeared effortless for him.
