John Grady Holliday, 61, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, with his family and lifelong best friends by his side. Grady was born on January 21, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Grady graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1982. After graduating, Grady began his career in the Meat Industry at Sam Hausman Meat Packers. Grady was passionate about the Meat Industry, previously serving as the President of the Southwest Meat Association in 2000. Grady spent the last 20 years of his career working for Sun Belt Foods and enjoying every second of the thrill of trading meat. As passionate as he was about trading, he was equally as passionate about teaching and mentoring others in the industry. But above all else, Grady loved his family. Grady married the love of his life, Vicki, on December 21, 1991, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. Grady and Vicki were together for 40 years and married for 34 years. Together, they brought into this world their two daughters, Meagan and Natalie. Grady was the ultimate girl dad, always taking the time to help his girls study for a spelling test, attend countless dance recitals, and reluctantly watching reality TV with them. Grady had a deep love of music, attending countless concerts at The Ritz and the Memorial Coliseum. Whether it be Rush or The Los Lonely Boys, you could find Grady blasting music throughout the house and dancing with his girls in the kitchen. When not listening to music, you could find Grady watching baseball, tennis or football, playing dominoes, or grilling with friends. Grady lived every single day of his life to the fullest, and taught his girls to work hard, be honest, and to always be positive no matter what life throws your way.

Grady is preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Annette Holliday, grandmother, Winogene Peale, and father-in-law, Bruce Nix. Grady will be deeply missed by his wife, Vicki Holliday (Nix), daughters Meagan and Natalie Holliday, parents Rick Holliday and Barbara Holliday, mother-in-law Sharon Nix, sisters Karri Kallman (Trey) and Kristi Sanchez (Cesar), and sister-in-law Tammy Lane (Steve) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank every nurse, CNA, and RT on the 8th floor of Spohn Shoreline who treated Grady with such kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, American Lung Association, or Peewee's Pet Adoption.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, with a reception to celebrate Grady's life to follow.
