John Granata Obituary
John Granata, 88, the loving husband of Teresa (Mangone) Granata for 64 years, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his home in Norwalk. Born in Minturno, Italy, the son of the late Ignazio and Maria Granata, he was also predeceased by an infant grandson Brian, and brother Antonio.
He was a skilled stone mason whose work includes many local schools, churches and fine homes. John was a very active member of St. Philip Church, where he and Teresa would attend daily, and also members of St. Ann's Club, where they were respected Bocci champions. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening and most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by their children, John Jr. and his wife Nancy, Luisa and her husband Brian and Roseann and her husband Joe, cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Victoria, Allison, Julia, Tim, Gavin, Joseph and Jennifer, and seven Great-grandchildren: Scott, Emily, Lucas, Carmen, Joey, Theodara and Oliver, and his sister Cristina Mangone, and two brothers, Mario and Michael Granata.
John's family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2 at St. Philip Church, One Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk, beginning at 9 A.M. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 A.M., with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to: St. Philip Church.
