John R. Gregarczyk, 85, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
John is survived by his wife, with whom he shared fifty years, Maria-Elena (Vacca) Gregarczyk; two sons, Peter Gregarczyk in Florida, and Christopher Boucher of Oxford; two daughters, MaryAnne Manley in Rhode Island, and Chelli L. Tennis in New Hampshire; a brother-in-law and dear friend, Michael Vacca; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was born in Worcester, one of nine children, born to the late, John and Blanche (Orzechowska) Gregarczyk, and has lived here all his life. After high school, John served his nation proudly in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany.
John worked for many years as an electrician at the former Worcester State Hospital. He enjoyed golfing and was a former member of the Heritage Country Club and was three-time champion of the Worcester Police Social League. He was a member of the IBEW Local 96 and the Greendale Friends Club.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff at UMass 7th floor Pulmonary I.C.U., for their care and compassion shown to John and his family during his stay with them.
Funeral Services are private.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
The family has entrusted Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel of Worcester.
