John Groome Obituary

John, affectionately known to many as "John The Barber" manned his station at the shop, formerly known as "Louies" for 30+ years.
He was a US Army veteran and served his country in Vietnam. John was also a member of The Knights of Columbus, in Keyport, NJ.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Anna Groome, his sister Anna
Groome, and his brother James Groome.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary of Hazlet, NJ, his treasured son, Jason, and Daughter-in-law Danielle of Ft Meyers, FL, and his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Kaitlyn, Jason, Christopher, and Ryan.
John was also blessed with several great-grandchildren who all brought great joy to his life. His sisters, Margaret Flanagan and Helen Noll, along with many nieces and nephews who will also hold his memory close to their hearts.
John was well known through multiple communities for being a kind and helpful man. He was always there for his friends and family whenever anyone needed him. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, NJ on Thursday 10/10 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM EST. Funeral services will take place at Holy Family Church at 10 AM EST on Friday 10/11.
Close family and friends are invited to a final visitation Friday morning at 9 AM EST at Day Funeral Home before the church services.
