NEW BEDFORD - John R. Guerzoni, 45, of New Bedford, formerly of Marion, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River after a brief illness.
Born in Wareham, John was the beloved son of Leslie F. (Hinchcliffe) Guerzoni of Raynham and the late Richard J. "Rick" Guerzoni. He was a 1998 graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School, where he was a standout player on the football team. He continued his education at Bridgewater State University, where he also played football, and later earned his nursing degree from the Brockton School of Nursing.
John dedicated his career to caring for others and most recently served as the nurse manager at Alden Court Nursing Care in Fairhaven. Before becoming a registered nurse, he worked as a personal trainer at Absolutely Fit in Hingham, combining his passion for health and fitness with his dedication to helping others.
John had a deep love for his family and cherished time spent with them. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, and relaxing at home with his faithful dog, Thor.
He is survived by his mother, Leslie Guerzoni of Raynham; his sister, Amy Arruda, and her wife Kay of Raynham; his cherished nieces, Jules and Reese Arruda; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Marion.
