John Russell Hall, age 81, resident of Gulfport, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024.
He was born in Jasper, TX to Frank and Edna Mae Hall. He attended Little Cypress High School, where he was an outstanding running back in the state of Texas. He graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. While in college, he worked for DuPont as a mechanic and worked his way into upper management. He spent several years at the DuPont DeLisle plant and other DuPont locations throughout the United States.
“Mr. Hall” was highly respected by all of the people that worked for him. He retired in Mobile, AL after a 40-year career at DuPont.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Randy (Renee) Hall and Reagan (Joy) Hall. He adored his grandchildren, Dawson and Fairley, and was known to everyone as “Paw Paw.”
He enjoyed coaching his two sons throughout their childhood and was the announcer at Harrison Central High School football games when both of his boys played. Russell enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens.
