John "Milan" Hall, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in San Francisco, California, Milan spent most of his childhood in Garden Grove, where he developed his love for hard work, friendship, and family. After graduating, he answered his country's call and served honorably in the United States Navy, completing two Western Pacific tours in Vietnam on the USS Floyd B. Parks DD-884. His time in the service shaped his lifelong sense of discipline, camaraderie, and patriotism-values he carried with him every day of his life.
Milan was known for his easy smile, quick wit, and genuine warmth. He never met a stranger; every handshake became a conversation, every conversation a friendship. He cherished his Navy reunions, a good glass of bourbon shared among friends, and the simple joys of time spent with those he loved most.
Above all, Milan's greatest pride was his family. He shared 51 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy, who was his constant companion and best friend. Together, they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy, his daughter, Catherine, and his son-in-law, Raymond Warman, and their daughter, Hailey; as well as his son, Brian, his daughter-in-law, Marianne, and their children, Caleb, Milani, and AddiLynn.
Milan's legacy lives on in the strength, compassion, and spirit of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A life well-lived. A man deeply loved. Fair winds and following seas, Milan-you will be missed but never forgotten.
