Cecil was born on September 26, 1926 in Southport. He was a commercial fisherman and oysterman in the Apalachicola Bay until he was called up to serve in the Army during WWII. Afterward, Cecil married his wife, started a family and worked for the Army Corps of Engineers until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Wilma Jean Richardson; parents, John William Richardson and Mae Elisha Richardson; brothers, Clayton, Curtis and Calvin Richardson; sister, Willie Mae; and grandson, Daniel Richardson.
Those left to cherish Cecil's memory include his children, Regina Gibson, David Richardson (Barbara), Shirley Frazier (Ron), William Richardson (Dena), Paula Carothers (Merritt); grandchildren, Shannon Woods (Chris), Paul Davis, David Lee Richardson, Justin Richardson, Sarah Cook, Emily Richardson, Zachary Carothers (Lizzie) and Katherine Agouridis (Cole); great-grandchildren, Davis Bell, Alexandra "Alex" Davis, Autumn Davis and Jack "Walt" Carothers.
