John Haney, Jr. Obituary
Of Bethel Park; age 77; peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025; son of the late John and Winnie Haney; beloved husband of Bridget(Kowalski) Haney; brother of Robert A.(Amanda) Haney and Marianne(Gary) Peterson; uncle of Heather Irwin, Cara Haney, Nicholas Peterson, Kenneth Haney, Shelby Walendziewicz, Gerald Kowalski and Richard Kowalski. Also survived by many cousins. John graduated from Bethel Park High School and University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam stationed on the USS Bainbridge and USS Enterprise. John retired from Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory after many years of service, working on aircraft carriers' nuclear power plants. After retirement, he enjoyed helping his cousin, Rocky, at Leonhardt Autobody. Family and friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, 10 AM at Resurrection Parish/St. Thomas More Church. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
