On June 16, 1968 a baby boy was born to Arnell and Marietta Haynes. John barely weighed 3 pounds.
John attended John Burrough Elementary. John was an excellent student. He enjoyed being a playground Patron Sargent at Roosevelt Elementary. John went on to Holy Family Catholic School and served as an Alter Boy. From there to Woodrow Wilson Junior High, enjoying basketball and was good on the team. From there to Garver Magnet School then graduated at Booker T. Washington High School. John served as a school photographer, and he also served as an attendance student aid. John's favorite class was "Todays Issue". He graduated as a Proud Mighty Hornet, Class of 1987. John loved Booker T. Washington and everyone, including his teachers and his classmates. John also was accepted into Tulsa Junior College (Also known as TCC).
John accepted the Lord Jesus at age 9 years old and was baptized at St. Andrew Baptist Church and served as Junior Lead Usher. John loved being an usher, that was always the main part of his conversations. John became a member of Newness of Life Church. He served as Church Treasurer. John's service didn't end at Newness of Life Church; he served as Church Treasurer at Simmon's Chapel Community Church in many capacities of the church. Even some Sunday morning Bible Teaching. After John's health began to fail him, he was unable to attend. He had worked as a God sent Man.
John had many friends and loved them all. He was always willing to help no matter what the problem was.
John's dad, Arnell Haynes now lives in a long-term care facility. Preceding John in death was his mother, Marietta Haynes and a special niece/sister, Lesia Haynes Gonzalez.
John transcended into Heaven on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 2:50 AM.
The memory of John will forever be cherished and loved by his only sister, Norma D. Haynes-Phillips (James), his nephews, W. Miguel Gonzalez (Kate), John Christopher Haynes (Tahkaney), and John Christopher Haynes, Jr., his uncles, Lawrence Tyson (Angela) and Jefferson Tyson, a very special friend, Grata Anderson, and many other relatives and friends. John loved them all.
Services celebrating John's life will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Greater Sunrise Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
