John Claude Houser, Sr., 77, of Columbia Street, Cohoes, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital after being stricken at his home. John was the son of the late Henry and Marian Steele Houser.
John was born in Albany and lived for a time in East Greenbush where he attended East Greenbush Schools. He worked as a fork lift operator for 20 years at the Watervliet Arsenal.
John loved to watch Professional Wrestling and Auto Racing but also had a musical side playing the "fiddle", guitar and keyboard.
Besides his parents, John was pre-deceased by two brothers; Henry and Robert.
He is survived by his domestic partner of many years, Sharon Cook, his three children: John Claude Houser, Jr. (Christia), Jody Lee Davis (Adrian) and Diana Ruhl; three step sons: Charles Baker, Jr. and Earl & Joseph Baker; two sisters: Frances and Rosemary and brothers Joseph and Richard. John is also survived by his 15 grandchildren: Harrison, Lennon, Rielynn, Trenton, Blake, Darrian, Clarissa, Jeffrey, Madison, Abigail, Hannah, Shane, Allora, Michael and Bethany; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life for John at Faith and Love Fellowship Outreach Center, 85 Washington Street, Rensselaer, NY 12144, on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM.
