John A. Hubach, 70, of Caldwell, passed away on March 22, 2023.
Relatives and friends are invited for memorial visitation on Friday from 4-7 pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday 9:30 am Mass at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, NJ with inurnment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
Born in Newark, he grew up in Bloomfield, lived in Montclair, settled in Roseland, and moved to Caldwell. He received his master's degree in literature from Columbia University. He worked as an editor and publisher for The Star Ledger, Scholastic Publishing, and Video Biz. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, playing guitar, and traveling with his wife. He was a lifelong New York Mets fan.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Maximilian Hubach Jr. and Eleanor Pelt Hubach, his brother, Joseph Hubach, and his sisters, Eleanor Weber and Kathryn Hubach.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Ann Marie Morgan; loving siblings, Mary T. Lucchetti and Barbara Moriarty; dear brothers and sisters in-law, Bob Morgan (Susan), Kathy Morgan (Victoria), Vincent Morgan (Mary), Stephen Morgan (Peggy), James Morgan (Ellen Cunningham), and Donna Vogel (Richard). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Lamp for Haiti, lampforhaiti.org.
