Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service, LTD.John “Hutz” Hutzayluk Jr. died on Nov. 3, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
The beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend now is in the loving embrace of Jesus for eternity.
John, 77, was married to Deborah (Sandt) Hutzayluk for 53 years. The couple resided in Quakertown, after living for years in Penndel, Bucks County.
He taught Earth & space science and biology for 36 years in Bensalem High School in Bensalem, Bucks County. He also was a track coach at the high school, where he fondly was known as “Hutz” by his colleagues. He often mentored new teachers at the high school.
He attended Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, where he was active in the “Over-50s Ministries.” He also attended Bridge Community Church in Lansdale.
John loved to sing and perform with the Joe Flanagan Singers and Showtime Charities. He especially loved singing Karaoke at family gatherings.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
Born in Allentown, John was a son of the late Catherine and John Hutzayluk. He was a 1966 graduate of Dieruff High School in Allentown. He earned his bachelor of science degree in education from Pennsylvania State University and his master’s degree in education at the former Trenton State College.
He was an outstanding Ukrainian dancer in his youth, when he performed with the dance troupe at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Allentown.
In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by his daughter Wendi, wife of David LeBourgeois of Quakertown, and grandchildren Heather and Caleb LeBourgeois. Other survivors include his sister Irene, wife of Randy Kraft of Emmaus; brother Joseph Hutzayluk and his wife Pamela of Emmaus, and Debbie’s brother Jeff Sandt of Allentown. He also is survived by seven nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to his caregiver, Will Riegel, in addition to the caregivers from Family Caregivers, and Visiting Angels, who helped care for John. We also want to thank Fox Rehab therapists who kept him strong.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Franconia Heritage Banquet Center, 508 Harleysville Pike Unit A, Telford, PA 18969. A greeting time with light refreshments will begin at 12:00pm, followed by a memorial service from 1:30-3:00pm. Children are welcome and casual dress is acceptable. If you like, wear your Hutz shirt. But if you don’t know what Hutz is, don’t even ask.
