JOHN “JACK” B. ST. JOHN, age 93 of Bedford. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Torma); loving father of Kathleen (late Craig Tame) St. John, Gregory (Jeanne) St. John, and the late Karen St. John-Vincent ; dearest grandfather of Megan Seaman, Jennifer (Patrick) McGinty and Ryan Vincent; dear great-grandfather of Cecilia Elizabeth McGinty; brother of Charles “Chuck” (late Lois) and the late James “Jim” (late Eleanore) St. John; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Jack graduated from Benedictine High School in 1949; received a B.A. in English from John Carroll University; then served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant, in Greenland. Working for many years in the family funeral business, he was a member of the Bedford school board for several decades and officiated high school sports for 50+ years. In later life, he obtained a B.S. in geology from Cleveland State University, and taught adult education courses in geology and archeology at Tri-C. He inspired many lives with his intellect, charm, and dry humor. His loss will be deeply felt. Friends received at THE ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY, BEDFORD (1 MILE WEST OF FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271), SUNDAY, MARCH 3 FROM 2-5 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Bedford, Monday, March 4 at 10 A.M. Burial All Saints Cemetery. Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, 7911 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, Oh 44102 or Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Rd., Novelty, OH 44072.
