John Jackson Obituary
More affectionately known as Tony, he was born in Cumberland County on November 21, 1965. Tony loved all things sports but his favorites were baseball, football, basketball, and wrestling. Tony was well known and respected by the community for his coaching abilities and time within the Hope Mills Youth Association. He enjoyed fishing and shooting at local turkey shoots. However, his most cherished time was spent with his children and grandchildren. Tony loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren more than anything and his favorite activity was spending time with his four grandchildren. As anyone who knew him can attest, Tony was also a die-hard fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Go Heels!!
Tony is survived by his three children, Joshua Andrew Jackson, Jayce Allen Jackson, and Magan Herring (Dustin); four grandchildren, Alexcis Gaige Huttner, Jayce Allen Jackson Jr, William Taylor Herring, and Amelia Mae Herring; his mother Linda-Lee Knowles; siblings Phillip Lee (Brandy), Jason Lee, Chrissy Faircloth and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3pm, Sunday April 28, 2024, at Stoney Point Baptist Church.
In Lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations in the name of Tony to Liberty Christian Academy in Fayetteville NC.
