With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Luke Anthony Edwards (22) on January 21, 2025. He was born August 14, 2002 in Fayetteville, NC. Luke was a talented athlete, kind, witty, loving, funny and always loved to have a good time and good laugh. He brought so much joy to everyone around him. He was passionate about basketball and baseball while he proudly played for Liberty Christian Academy in Hope Mills where he graduated from in 2021.
He is survived by his father Larry Edwards Sr and wife Michele Edwards of Parkton; mother, Lynda Anne Sanders of Grays Creek; grandmother, Linda Carter Butler of Grays Creek; grandfather, Dale Walters of Hope Mills; sister, Tonya Tyler of Parkton; brothers, Kris Tyler and Larry Edwards Jr of Fayetteville and sister Hudson Kwiaton along with countless other family members, friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Onzie Edwards of Fayetteville and Antoni and Betty Kwiaton of Grays Creek. Luke will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday January 26th, 2025 at Cape Fear Baptist Church, 100 Indian Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28312. The visitation service will begin at 2:00 pm with the funeral service to follow immediately after with Pastor Rick Burnett officiating.
Burial will be in Cape Fear Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Luke’s love for sports to Liberty Christian Academy in Hope Mills.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Kris Tyler, Larry Edwards Jr, Tyler Johnson, CJ Graham, Nick Hartman and Calvin Donovan.
Luke 15: 31-32. And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. 32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
