It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Paul Jackson, who left this world on December 12, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on April 21, 1970, in Indianapolis, IN, to Walter William "Bill" Jackson and Doris Mae Jackson (Bittner). John devoted his life to his career as a pipe fitter for Laborers' Union Local 120. He was known for his generosity, hard work, loyalty, and deep love for those around him.
John graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1989, where he began a lifelong journey of hard work and dedication. His passion for life was reflected in his many hobbies, which included fishing, poker, playing cards, and down-right having a good time. He cherished moments spent with friends, engaging in gatherings, as well as pursuing house projects. As an avid NASCAR fan and go-kart enthusiast, he loved to go fast. John also found joy in sharing his life with his beloved dogs, Luger and Coco.
John is survived by his long-term girlfriend, Connie Collins of Beech Grove, IN, and his daughter, Brittany Kay Jackson of Bloomington, IN. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings Dianna Lynn Jackson of Indianapolis, IN and Cynthia Bernadette "Cindy" (Thomas) Birdwell, along with his nephews James Joseph "Jimmy" Pringle, Jeremy Dale Pringle, Jesse Sterling Pringle, and Andrew Thomas "Andy" Birdwell.
John was preceded in death by his father, Walter William "Bill" Jackson, his mother, Doris Mae (Bittner) Jackson, and his brothers James Joseph "Jimmy" Jackson and Donald Ray "Donny" Jackson. He was also preceded by his nephews, Thomas Lane "Tommy" Birdwell Jr, and Donald Ray "Donny" Jackson II.
A visitation will be held in John's honor on December 19, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 1:30 PM and concluding at 2:30 PM. Following the service, John will be laid to rest during a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, 435 West Troy Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46225, at 3:30 PM.
John Paul Jackson will forever be remembered for his unwavering spirit, love for family, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those privileged to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. In honor of John, donations can be made to ASPCA.
