John Alan Jamieson

August 2, 1939 – September 30, 2025

John Alan Jamieson, 86, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. A devoted husband,

proud veteran, and dedicated public servant, John lived a life marked by integrity, service, and

deep love for his family.

Born on August 2, 1939, John was the beloved son of John Alan Jamieson Sr. and Helen

Jamieson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Judith Jamieson, with

whom he shared a lifetime of unwavering companionship and devotion. He was also preceded

in death by his brother Robert Jamieson. John is survived by this sister, Anne Wilson (Reg) of

Nevada, who held a special place in his heart. Together, they raised five children: Amy

Jamieson (Bill Olewnik), Elizabeth Hartman (Keith), Carrie Morak (Mike), Matthew Jamieson,

and John Jamieson (Paige). John is lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren: Chelsea

Hartman, David Hartman, Timothy Carter, Emmeline Carter, Alexandra Goodall, Matthew

Goodall. His legacy of love, kindness, and strength lives on through each of them.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army and continued his commitment to

public service through a long and distinguished career with the federal government. His sense

of duty and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew him. This carried over to his decade

of volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity.

He was a proud and active member of the Masonic community for over 50 years, beginning his

journey in New York. He served as Past Master of Farmville Lodge #41, and was a devoted

member of Mann Page Royal Arch Chapter #89, Richmond Commandery #2 of the Knights

Templar, and The Allied Masonic Degrees. He was also affiliated with the Richmond Scottish

Rite Bodies, through which he formed many lasting friendships and deepened his commitment

to service and brotherhood.

He will be remembered for his steadfast character, his deep love for family, and his enduring

sense of purpose. John leaves behind a legacy of craftmanship, he was known for his

remarkable talent for woodworking a skill he pursued with passion and precision. Our family

relishes the pieces he made for each of his children and friends.

The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of staff at MAHOVA in Richmond for

their outstanding care and compassion while he was in residence. Our thanks are not enough

for everything they did for him.

A service will be held in accordance with John’s wishes at Farmville United

Methodist Church 212 High Street Farmville VA on Tuesday, Oct 7, 2025 at 11am with a graveside service immediately

following at Westview Cemetery in Farmville VA . In lieu of flowers, the family encourages

donations to The Masonic Home of Virginia in his memory.
