John "Jack" William Jenkins was born in Paris, Arkansas on December 8,1935 to William "Babe" Jenkins and Elda Spencer Jenkins. Later his younger brother Jerry Jenkins would be born. Julia "Judy" Breed stole his heart in the summer of 1960 and within a short three months they were married. After graduating from University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, he asked Judy if she would go with him to his first Forrest Service assignment in Coeur 'de Alene, Idaho. Judy said, "Yes!" and later told her mother that she hoped he was talking about getting married.
Within a year they had their first child, Kris Jenkins Coulbourn. After the Forrest Service transferred them to Mississippi, their second child, Jeri Jenkins Dennis was born. Their final move with the Forest Service brought them to Danville, Arkansas and closer to home. Jack served in the Army National Guard, was a Mason and for a time in the Lion's Club and was proud to have been instrumental alongside Wamon Sides in starting the Annual Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast.
Jack was a member of Danville First Baptist Church. Through the years, he and Judy loved hosting people in their home from Sunday School Classes to Small Groups to Evangelists and Youth Ministers. One specific group of Judy's Sunday School girls remained dear to his heart even after and possibly because of a gathering at their home where in a game of charades with names of hymns, a simple gesture like rocking a baby in arms and pointing to Jack was enough for a correct guess, Rock of Ages. From then on, he welcomed the endearing name of the Rock (ages implied).
When asked why people called him Jack instead of John, he loved to comment that Jack was short for John and that all great men named John were called Jack referencing John F. Kennedy.
Jack leaves behind the following family who rejoice that he is with his Lord:
His wife and partner in life for 64 years, Judy Breed Jenkins
Daughters: Kris Jenkins Coulbourn (Hugh) and Jeri Jenkins Dennis (Denver)
Grandkids: Samantha Dennis Huggins (Dustin), Cody Dennis (Anna Marie), Jackie Dennis Pinkney (Kendell), Lauren Vosburg Myers (Luke) and Clark Coulbourn (Sarah)

Brother: Jerry Jenkins (Shari)
Brothers-in-Law: Rolla Breed (Wilma), Rex Breed (Ramona) and Scott Breed (Kimberly)
And a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Jack is joining a host of his family's believers in Heaven.
