John Kenneth Johnston Sr.

Mr. John Kenneth Johnston, Sr., age 72 of Roopville, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
He was born September 8, 1952 in Huntsville, Alabama, the oldest son of the late Judson and Ozetta Johnston.
John spent his life as protector and provider for his family. He had a deep abiding love for his Savior and walked out his salvation daily, helping anywhere he could. John served Heaven Bound Church of God in Centralhatchee faithfully for many years, always finding ways to be a blessing. He was kind, a friend to anyone that would talk to him, he never met a stranger.
He retired from Blount Construction, after many years of service, to spend time with his beloved wife, Donna. John truly had a heart too big for his body to contain. He was a generous, loving an supportive husband and father.
John leaves behind his devoted wife of 48 years, Donna Johnston; daughter and son-in-law, Serita and Don Stover; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carolee Johnston, Jason and Kelly Johnston; a treasure trove of grandchildren, Noah Abbott, Jason Johnston, Jr., Summer Johnston, Cameron Johnston, Emma Osborne; precious great granddaughter, Violet Johnston; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Norbert Bergstresser; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Atha Johnston and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11 am at Heaven Bound Church of God, Centralhatchee, Georgia with Pastor Debbie Kendrick, Pastor Lee Kendrick and Rev. Cecil Davis officiating.
