John Stephen Judge was born on December 15, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Francis G. and Katherine M. Judge. He passed away surrounded by family on January 21, 2025 in Mesa, AZ. John Stephen was the second youngest of 8 children and grew up in Worthington,MN where he graduated from Worthington Senior High School in 1965. Although his given name was John, his childhood family and friends called him Steve. He spent 2 1/2 years in the US Navy and served honorably. In his later years, you would never see him without a US Navy baseball cap on his head. He had a great big heart and his smile and laughter will be greatly missed! He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ho Thi Cheney (Le). Before he retired, he worked for many years at Motorola in Electronics which is where he met Le. Le is blessed with 3 beautiful children, Thuy Conlin (Mike), Claudette Ricotta (Mark), and Erik Macak and a total of nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. John Stephen was known as "Grandpa John" to Le's grandchildren. John Stephen is survived by his siblings Sister Mary Frances Judge, Thomas M. Judge (Maria), Michael B. Judge (Theresa) and Catherine J. Judge. He is also survived by his former wife Gloria Judge (nee: Knuth) and their 2 children - Andy Judge and Jessica Martinez (Augustine) and grandchildren Augustine, Christian, Dominic, Maya and Mercy. John Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Katherine Judge, siblings: Theresa Brey, Joseph Judge, Patricia Weideman.
In Fond Remembrance, a Funeral/memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 5th at 2:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
