It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabel Yepez Valencia, affectionately known as "Mama Chavi." Born on August 27, 1945, in Los Reyes, Michoacán, Mexico, Isabel lived a life full of resilience, love, and dedication.
In the early 1970s, Isabel embarked on a courageous journey to the United States with her late husband, Gabriel Sandoval, and their six children. Later, two more children were born in the U.S., completing her family of eight. Isabel worked tirelessly, holding three jobs at times to ensure her children were well cared for, exemplifying her unwavering commitment as a mother.
Isabel found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. She nurtured a beautiful garden, found solace in watching and feeding birds, and enjoyed keeping herself busy with various hobbies. One of her most cherished pastimes was collecting porcelain dolls, a testament to her appreciation for beauty and tradition.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gabriel Sandoval, her son Jorge Sandoval, her daughter Elizabeth Sandoval, and her two grandchildren Alex Sandoval and Andrew Esparza.
Isabel leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her surviving family: her daughters Amelia, Mariaelena, Hilda, Maria, and Veronica, and her son Gabriel Sandoval, Jr., along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
A viewing and service to honor Isabel's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Red Mountain Funeral Home, 456 N. Mesa Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85201. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Isabel, please visit our floral store.
