Jose Valencia

Jose Valencia 92, of O.O.B, Maine, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 17th. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, on May 17, 1932, Jose spent his early years as a farm worker in his homeland and later as a migrant farm worker in California where he settled with his children in Los Angeles. In the late 90s, Jose moved to Maine with his sons, where he built a life surrounded by his family and grandchildren. Jose's kindness and generosity knew no bounds. His passion for music, especially playing the guitar and harmonica, brought joy to all who knew him. He also found great fulfillment in tending to his beloved vegetable gardens, apple trees and flowers at his home. Jose's life was a testament to hard work, love, and the simple pleasures that bring happiness. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
Jose was preceded in death by his wife Eva Arteaga, brothers Antonio and Ruben, sisters Maria Luisa and Adela and son Javier.
He is survived by his brother Jesus, son Ignacio, daughters Maria De Jesus, Ana Maria and Olga, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private services will take place in the spring where Jose will be laid to rest alongside his son, Javier.
