John Karnik

John Karnik, 53, passed away on October 11, 2015 at Seton Medical Center, Daly City, California. John was born on November 23, 1961 in Northern California. He was a custom Display Case Designer and Builder creating display cases for high-end jewelry stores. John always had a smile on his face and he had an infectious laugh. He was a huge fan of the Oakland Raiders and of NASCAR racing with Mark Martin being his favorite driver. He loved cooking, particularly grilling, loved camping, and traveling in his Pace Arrow RV. John was an expert at his vocation and his colleagues often turned to him for his expertise and advice. John is survived by his loving companion and soul mate of 30 plus years, Cathie Harvey, his best friend Chris Harvey, his brother Thomas Karnik and spouse Mary Mark-Karnik of Pleasant Grove, UT, his stepbrother Dave (Chip) Eichar and spouse Josette Eichar of Sonoma, California, stepsister Susan Eichar of Pittsburg, California, and many family and friends. John was predeceased by his mother Anita Eichar and stepfather David Eichar, father Jim Karnik and stepmother Carol Karnik, and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Memorial service will be held at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home 1370 E. Camino Real, Colma, California 94014 on Thursday October 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
