Tony is one of the greatest MEN I every knew. So smart and talented. The best steam fitter/plumber ever. Highly competative athelete and very fun to compete with. I am so sorry I did not get a chance to see you this past year. You affected so many in a good ways. May you rest in peace and know that I LOVE YOU. I'll see you when my time is done here. Your friend and co-worker

Our heart felt condolences to Tony's family.
Tony and I met in 2000 when he came to work at for the City and County of SF in DBI/PID where we became close friends. We worked together for near 20 years at PID, taught together at Local 467, fished and camped together, shot sporting clays, and spent numerous weeks in Ann Arbor in training while teaching for local 467. During our retreats at Seascape for local 467 he would always bring a bottle of champaign for my wife. He was a true gentleman and always thoughtful of people. My wife always appreciated his thoughtfulness.
Last Fall Tony came to visit us and he stayed for a night or two. Great fun.
Tony was one of the best conversationalist I had the pleasure to enjoy. I loved his stories about his grandfathers place in Roseville and what that town used to be, his days surfing, school life at UC and San Diego. The more Tony and I talked the more neither of us could understand how we had not met sooner. We shared many places at the same time periods. We both loved to surf, both spent time in San Diego, we were both raised in SF. The potential for connections went on and on.
An avid reader, he always had a good book to share, even though he signed his name in it in hopes of a return, (I still have a couple).
He was a great navigator and sailor who gave me a book on celestial navigation, I guess I better read it even though I don't sail. I know his great navigation skills serve him well on his venture to a new destination. So sorry I did not meet Tony sooner.
Tony has and will always have a special place in my heart and I will miss him greatly.

Never got to tell you but over those 5 long years, the kindness, knowledge and passion for our trade you showed is all was amazing and truly appreciated. I can only hope that I am projecting the same to my students now that I´m on the other side of the podium.
