Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 17, 2018.
On August 11, 2018, John William Kennedy passed away suddenly at his home in Dumfries, at the age of 24. He is survived by his parents, Dan and Tamara Kennedy of Dumfries, VA; maternal grandmother, Betty Farnsworth of Abingdon, VA; brother Sean Kennedy of Richmond, VA; brother Patrick Kennedy of Virginia Beach, VA; sister Shannon Hazelrigg and her husband Justin Hazelrigg of Chester, VA; brother Ryan Kennedy and his wife Heather Kennedy of Chester, VA; sister Devon Kennedy of Reston, VA; and his uncle and aunt Bob and Amanda Farnsworth of Nashville, TN; and his cousin Alexandra Farnsworth of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by his nephews Aidan Kennedy, Braedan Kennedy, Chance Keen and Logan Kennedy and by his niece Hannah Hazelrigg.

John was a graduate of Forest Park High School in 2012, where he played lacrosse and was a drummer for the Forest Park Marching Band. He also played baseball with the local DTQ Baseball League, football with the Prince William Youth Football League, and lacrosse with the Prince William Youth Lacrosse League. He had many hobbies and passions including sports, swimming, skimboarding, kayaking, longboarding, and riding his Harley motorcycle.

A memorial service will be held at The Life Church at 11234 Balls Ford Road, Manassas, Virginia on Friday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating John s life and to share memories. John found God during his struggles and was a member of The Life Church. John was a very intelligent and kind hearted individual, who would do anything for a loved one. However during his most recent years he faced several struggles that had a strong impact on his life that led him to get support from various groups and individuals. One group that worked very closely with John was the Harrison House of Virginia. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to Harrison House of Virginia through our gofundme page, which can be found by searching John Kennedy Funeral Donations at gofundme.com. We will provide 100% of the donations to the Harrison House to use in aiding others through the rehabilitation process.

We all love you and miss you John. You would have been 25 on January 16 and we all would have loved to see you be clean and healthy. The John we all remember. I wanted to see you on the other side of all this...married and with children. But I do know that you are at peace now and with Jesus. We will all see soon. I think of you every day. Love you, Mom
