We begin today by honoring the life of John Kollar, a man whose vibrancy and spirit touched the lives of many. Born on April 29, 1951, in Paterson, New Jersey, John's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends. It is with a heavy heart that we announce his peaceful passing on July 11, 2025, in Brick, New Jersey.
John was a beloved husband to Lorraine Kollar, his partner in life's adventure for many wonderful years. His legacy lives on through his children, John Kollar and Jessica Butta, and his cherished son-in-law, Vito Butta. The joy of his life was his grandchildren, Carmelo and Liliana Butta, who will remember their grandfather for his endless love and playful spirit. John's brothers, Thomas and William Kollar, along with sister-in-laws Carolyn Capuano, Linda Kollar and Marie Kollar will carry forward the memories of the good times they shared.
A proud graduate of Bloomfield College, John earned his Bachelor's degree in Business, which paved the way for a successful career. For many years, he served as the store manager at PC Richard & Son, where his leadership and charisma were integral to the store's success. Colleagues and employees alike will remember John for his sense of humor, his ability to inspire, and his knack for making every challenge a learning opportunity.
John's passions extended beyond his professional life. He loved to travel and explore new places, immersing himself in the beauty of nature.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing John would describe him as loving, funny, and spirited. His stories were captivating and his presence a source of comfort and joy. John approached life with a sense of humor that could lighten even the darkest of days. He was a man who savored each experience, encouraging others to do the same.
As we say farewell to John Kollar, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. He was a beacon of light for his family, a loyal friend, and a respected member of the community. John's spirit will forever be remembered as one that brought happiness, warmth, and laughter to all who were lucky enough to cross his path. Though he may be gone from our sight, the memories he created will endure, and his spirit will always remain a guiding force in the lives he touched.
