It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, John G. Korando, 62, who left us on October 7, 2025. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and deep love for family and the simple joys of life.
John was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in nature—whether he was out on the water with a fishing pole, sitting quietly in a deer stand, or traveling to a new destination just to see what was over the next hill. He was also a passionate sports fan, always ready to cheer on his Cardinals, Blues, and Bears and share in the thrill of the game with those he loved. He loved coaching his kids and watching his grandkids play sports.
Music was a constant in his life. From concerts to car rides, he had a soundtrack for every moment and could always be counted on to turn up the volume when one of his favorite songs came on.
Most of all, John cherished his family. He lit up every gathering with laughter, stories, and genuine warmth. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and his presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his three children - Josh (Rebecca) Korando of Maryville, Illinois, Sydney Korando of St. Louis, Missouri and Matt (Kennya) Korando of Mildenhall, England, one sister – Denise (Mike) Moen of Schuline, Illinois and his two grandchildren – Mya and Macy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held on on a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well-lived.
John’s love, humor, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
Memorials may be made in John’s honor to the family and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
