Pechacek Funeral Homes - ChesterWALTER ALLEN RAINEY, 71, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:22 pm, Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
He was born to the late William Otis and Frances (nee McConnell) Rainey on September 1, 1954, in West Salem, Illinois.
Walter married Mary Bigham on August 10, 2008 in Lenzburg, Illinos; she survives.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Walter loved flying planes and even built one with his friend, Tim Smith. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Walter was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Mary's
residence. Memorials may be made to Dementia Society of America and are being
accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, Illinois.
