Obituary
John M. Leskanic, born April 18, 1949, in Barberton, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21, 2023, surrounded by his wife and sons. He was a graduate of Hoban High School, Class of 1967. John retired from Babcock and Wilcox in 2015 after a career of 48 years. He coached BALL (Barberton American Little League), youth football, and youth basketball and coached with the Manchester A's for seven years. John loved watching the Cavaliers and the Guardians, and loved traveling, especially to Cancun, Mexico with his wife. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jennie Leskanic. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 49 years, Racyne; sons, Joshua (Christina) and Zachary (Ashley) and grandchildren, Ruby, Maya, Jackson and Mason; several family members, and longtime friend, George Ferguson, whose weekly visits John enjoyed. We will always remember his sage words of wisdom and advice, of which there were many, but in particular, "tuck it in the front and it won't stick out in back". John's family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association and to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation.
