John Lynch, age 77, passed away on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 1, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John Warren and Dorothy Lynch. Post high school, he served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge after his exemplary service. John worked as a Warehouse Manager in the office industry. On May 18, 1969, John married Judith Powell, the love of his life, enjoying 56 years of wedded bliss.

John was one who enjoyed sports, especially his Cincinnati Bengals, cheering them on to get to and win the Super Bowl. He also loved fishing, often taking his family to Hoover Dam Reservoir in Central Ohio. John had a great sense of humor, and most of all, he was known for his love of family, showing his love and care to each in his special ways. He also loved his pets--a dog who he adored named Snooker, and a turtle named Wolly.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Warren Lynch, Robert Hitchcock, Dorothy (Robinson) Lynch-Hitchcock; his brothers, Richard Lynch, and Kenny Hitchcock, and sister-in-law, Shirley Kollstedt.

Those who will miss him are his wife of 56 years, Judith R. Lynch; his children, John Andrew Lynch II, and Diana Marie Lynch; sisters, Candy (Rick) Tedrow, Sandy Hitchcock, and Teri Wooten; nephews, Tim Kollstedt, Tony Kollstedt, Greg Powell, Kenny Powell Jr, Tim Powell, and Josh Powell; nieces, Ruth Kay Bustle, Carol Starr Powell, and Dawn Doson; as well as several friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home, Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will take place in Dayton National Cemetery Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11 am with military honors observed.
