Janice Evelyn Wood (Ramey)

1941 – 2025

Janice Evelyn Wood (Ramey), 84, of Ranger, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital, surrounded by family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles (Woody) Wood; children, Lisa and Michael; stepchildren,Tracey (Kim), Mischellie, and Lori; grandchildren Brittany, Joe, Michael (Danielle), Loryn (Carter) and Nick (Samantha); great-grandchildren Valen, Nico, Lexi, Nick Jr, William and Maren. She treated everyone as if they were her family and loved them as such. She was a kind, caring, loving, and nurturing person.

Jan married her best friend and lifelong partner, Woody in 1965. Together, they enjoyed traveling the country, going to car shows, and attending NASCAR races. She was an extraordinary cook and was well-known for her frosted sour cream sugar cookies around Christmas time, and a Christmas card in the mail.

Her greatest joy in life came from her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was especially devoted to being the wife of Woody throughout the entirety of their 60-year marriage.

Jan will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
