John V. Martino of Leominster passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 11, 2025, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
John was married to his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Kathy) Simard, for 59½ years. He was the son of the late Emilo and Mary (Perla) Martino of Leominster.
In addition to his beloved wife Kathy, John leaves three sons, Jan Martino and his wife JoAnn of Fitchburg, MA, Michael Martino and his wife Theresa of Leominster, MA and Dean Martino and his wife Melissa of Leominster, MA.
He was the proud grandfather of Gregory Martino and his wife Carmella, Victoria DeMasi and her husband Ryan, Kelsey Martino, Morgan DiPerrio and her husband John, and Hannah Martino. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Samuel DeMasi, Phoenix Laurent, Gabriella Martino, Gianna DiPerrio, Owen DiPerrio, Robert DiPerrio, and Emilio Martino.
John is survived by his two brothers, Ronald Martino and his wife Carol, and Steven Martino and his wife Linda.
He enjoyed life's simple pleasures-spending time with his family, trips to the beach and casino with Kathy, golfing with his friends, Sunday coffee and donuts with his grandchildren, and his Friday afternoon card games. John was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #406, where he served as Grand Knight and was a past member of the House Committee. He generously donated his time and cooking talents to many Knights events over the years, including the annual Senior Citizens Holiday Dinner, High School Scholarship Awards Dinner, Communion Breakfast, and Night at the Races.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anna's Church on Lancaster Street, Leominster on Monday, November 24 at 11:00 A.M. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's honor to the Knights of Columbus Council #406 High School Scholarship Fund or to a charity of your choice.
