John Richard Mc Hugh

John (Jack) Richard Mc Hugh, 87, of Greenwich CT, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the home of his son, John Joseph Mc Hugh, in Virginia. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Shirley N. Mc Hugh, whom he married in 1969. He was born on May 31, 1937 in Scranton, PA to John Joseph Mc Hugh and Mary Edith (Burkhart) Mc Hugh.
Jack was raised in Scranton, PA, where he attended Scranton Preparatory School, class of 1955. He received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, class of 1959, and his MBA from Northwestern University. He worked in research and development for IBM for over 30 years. After retiring, he became a business owner of Paul Davis Systems with his brother, William D. Mc Hugh, and Confectioner's International independently.
Jack is survived by his children, John Joseph Mc Hugh (Katharina Egger) and Stacey Ann McHugh (Thomas McHugh), as well as his brother William D. Mc Hugh. He was the proud and loving grandfather of four grandchildren, Aislynn, Teagan, John and Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton, PA.
Interment and Rite of Committal will be conducted at St. Catherines Cemetery, Covington Township, PA.
