Obituary of John Wesley McClain
John Wesley McClain, 91, husband of Norma Jean Matthews McClain, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was born in Midway, Kentucky on October 9, 1930 to the late John H. and Bessie Vickers McClain. He was the owner of McClain Heating and Air and a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. John was a member and former deacon of Versailles Baptist Church and was a member of the Gideons.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is survived by his children, Denise (Walker) Hatton, IN, Dena Coffey, Versailles, Karen (Glenn) Boens, Lexington, Alan (Gloria Jean) McClain, Versailles, Sandy (Wade) Fathergill, Hodgenville, and Beverly (John) Walling, Versailles; his grandchildren, Steven McClain, Mac Hatton, Matthew Coffey, Amy Coots, Neal Fathergill, Tracie Fathergill, Nick Walling, and Kris Walling; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jospeh Lee McClain and Roy David McClain; his granddaughter, Tara Beth McClain; his son-in-law, Gary Coffey; and his great grandson, Ozzy Coots.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Pastor Jonathan Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Steven McClain, Matthew Coffey, Mac Hatton, Neal Fathergill, Kris Walling, Kaleb Hatton, Tim Coots, and John Walling. Honorary Casketbearers will be Nick Walling, Amy Coots, and Tracie Fathergill. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Bluegrass or to Versailles Baptist Church.
