John F. McCormick Jr.

John F. McCormick, Jr. of Clarion, peacefully went home to his eternal rest on October 13, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Lynne, and his beloved children in the comfort of his home. John's suffering has now come to an end and he is in the presence of his glorious Savior. John had come to a profound faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and, in his last days, he frequently expressed his desire to see Jesus face to face. We are so thankful for the many years of loving care that Lynne provided to him.
John loved to garden and create beautiful flower beds. He felt closer to his Lord in a garden than anywhere else. Whether fishing at their cottage on Lime Lake, or bird watching from their back porch, John loved God's creation.
He dearly loved his children and grandchildren, and that love showed up in so many ways: thoughtful gifts, cards with words of encouragement, crafts with favorite Bible verses, helpful advice, and the many prayers that he spoke for each of his beloved. John worked hard to maintain the relationships built through his time spent on Lime Lake. Although John was not quick to speak, he had a wonderful, witty sense of humor. When John spoke, it was fitting for all to listen to his words of wisdom.
He is survived by Lynne, his wife he adored of 59 years; a daughter, Carrie Burkett (Jeff) of Sigel, Pennsylvania; a son, Michael McCormick (Colleen) of Fairport, New York; and 5 grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Cassandra Burkett of Clarion; Nathan Burkett (Brianna) of Erie, PA; Caleb Burkett of Sigel; Mylah McCormick of Fairport, NY; and Clara McCormick of Fairport, NY.
